Many years ago, I wrote a thank-you card to my grandmother for a gift she gave me for my birthday. A few years later, when I graduated from high school, I asked her, “What do think Grandma? What should I do with my life?”
I will never forget what she told me.
She said: “I am a simple woman, I was a teacher in a preschool, I lived a simple life, I do not know what to tell you.
However, what I can tell you is that the letter you wrote to me was so beautiful and it moved me so much, that I keep it close to me and carry it with me in my purse.”
She took out the letter I had written her years ago to show me, and in a emotional voice with tears in her eyes she said, “You wrote so beautifully, maybe you should be a writer.”
Grandma is no longer with us, but this story has been with me ever since. I am wish to think and believe that if Grandma had a chance to read my book, she would be proud of me.
